Zooper Buddy jogging stroller with non-swiveling fron wheel – good or bad?

I am thinking about buying a Zooper Buddy jogging stroller second hand. It’s a great price but I am concerned about the front wheel not swiveling. It’s supposed to be great for running but not as good for maneuverability in walking. Does anyone have a stroller like this one with the fron wheel that doesn’t swivel? Was it really difficult to use for walking? Is there a conversion kit to put a different kind of wheel on the front? Thanks everyone!

Update:

I’m probably going to use it primarily for walking not jogging as I have a lot of back problems.

I never used one, but my friend has one. She’s not really impressed. She said that it *is* easier to use while jogging, but who runs in a straight line? She would literally have to slow her pace in order to turn a corner.

This might seem weird, but those small cheap strollers from Wal-mart are excellent for walking. The are really light, and turn very easily. However, there is no lay-down position, so it would only work for an older baby who can sit up.

If you’re going to get a jogging stroller, find one with a swiveling front wheel. I’d never even seen a jogging stroller until a few months ago when my friend got one. It’s the most amazing thing ever. it can turn on a dime. Seriously, it can do a 360 degree turn in the same spot. It’s great in stores and at the park. It’s a little more expensive to get one with a front swiveling wheel, but it’s soooo worth it!

Recommend the swivel wheel, primarily for maneuverability. A fixed wheel is primarily used by pram strollers, not jogging strollers. You don’t have to be a serious runner or jogger to have a Swivel Wheel Jogging Stroller. They can turn on a dime, allowing you to steer it with one hand. A fixed wheel would require 2 hands for you to steer it. The locking mechanism allows you to park it when you decide to take a break and enjoy the park.

Although im sure many people love this stroller, I am not a fan. My sister had one for her children and if you simply want to take your child for a walk, you can only walk in a straight line. Going around tight curves, or any curve at all for that matter is quite difficult. I have never wnet running with it though. Also, not sure if you could convert to a swiveling wheel. Hope I could help!

If you intend to use it for jogging I wouldn’t recommend it, however my stroller doesn’t have a swivel wheel at the front and I have no problems at all with it. You just have to give it a little lift at sharp corners.

my stroller has a lock on the front wheel so that it can swivel or just go straight. it always locks on straight when i collapse it and i hate the stupid thing. you cant turn corners, you cant move quickly if there’s children or dogs on the walking track. if i could take the damn switch off so it was on permanent swivel i would. like i said i hate the damn thing. wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

I’d recommend a swivel that locks into place which is what I have, it’s great for maneuvering on walks and round shops
