Would it be strange for a polish couple to name their child Mishu?

I know it means Teddybear in polish and I was wondering if they would ever do that or if that would be too strange. I’m writing a story and think Mishu sounds pretty but I also want it to be authentic. Thanks.

Update:

No it wouldn’t be strange?

Mishu is a cute name! And I am even polish! I love how it sounds even though I know what it means. It depends what the character is like though. If the character posseses loving qualities or is very cute then name it. Hahaha, it wouldn’t be THAT strange. There are people who name their kids strange things!!!

I hope your story goes well!

I think that you can use Mishu (Misiu in Polish) as a diminutive of a Polish name Michał (spell Mihau) which means Michael. Kid’s name would be Michał (Michael) but his parents can call him Mishu.
