Windows Installer keeps trying to install Roxio Media Manager?

I just cleaned up my computer with msconfig and now when I restart my computer Windows Installer starts trying to install Roxio Media Manager. I get a message after a while “The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.” “Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to find folder containing the installation package “Roxio Media Manager.mis” in the box below”

I don’t even know what Roxio Media Manager is for and don’t think I have ever used it. How can I stop Windows from opening and trying to install this?

Thank you

Roxio Media Manager – is a CD burning tool (atleast related to CD/DVD tools).

so if the roxio installer is configured to run everytime you boot-up (or restart), the best way to stop it is….

start -> run -> regedit (enter this command)->

    1) HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftware Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion RunOnce

just search for entries like ‘RoxioMgr’ or anything that starts with Roxio.

    Delete this entry.

    (or)

    2) HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoft Windows CurrentVersion Run

    repeat the same…

Please take care, you are operating on heart-of-windows, so take utmost care not to delete any other entries.

Let the updater finish its updating next time. If it is not solved– Start>Run>Msconfig hit <enter> Click startup. Uncheck anything to do with Adobe acrobat. Especially updater box. You will not get the updater next time you start the computer.
