I think you just need a new battery. If it died with just having it turned for five min. Your battery sure wasn’t holding a charge. No it wont recharge it you just let it sit there.

Ignition on for five minutes shouldn’t kill the battery.

If you let it sit, the battery will “recover” a little charge from the depleted electrolyte nearest the plates mixing with the remaining electrolyte. It will not, however, “recharge” without actually charging it.

because the battery is a chemical reaction in use, some of that lost voltage will be regenerated but at the same time, 5 minutes with little to nothing on will not kill that battery. i have sat in my car during a lunch period with the radio going and it has always started after wards.

The battery only recharges while the car engine is running and the alternator if good recharges teh battery..

but if the car is parked in your driveway??? it does not charge the battery

The battery won’t charge without the motor running.

ONCE THE BATTERY DIES CLOSE HOOD AND THE AUTO ELVES WILL FIX IT OVERNIGHT FOR YOU
