it could mean a number of things:

    1. that you know someone who is in trouble with them and they want to ask you questions about him or her.

    2. that something weird happened in your neigborhood and they wanted to know if you saw anything unusual

    3. that you could be in trouble or if you have any children, they might have gotten in trouble.

call and find out!! and tell us… i am curious.

Could be a lot of things. He could just need to ask you some questions about something that happened in your neighborhood, or you serve you papers to appear as a witness in trial. Anything serious happen lately that you were involved in? Do you have traffic tickets unpaid? If so, take care of them. They will also call your house if you have a listed number and leave a message as to why they are calling. Whatever the reason big or small, they don’t quit -trust me. They will just keep knocking on your door and calling until you answer.

deputy sheriffs are usually the highest police power in the state. if they left a business card they probably just want to talkk to you about something. just call the person on the card and they’ll let ya know what it is about.

It means that a depurty Sheriff let his card in your door.Chances are that he had papers to serve on you or a subpoena.

Could there be a bench warrant out for you?

That has happened to me before. The deputy needed to ask me some questions about my neighbors. :o) Definitely call them. They will just show up unannounced again if you don’t.

When you are referring to “a card”, do you mean business card?

If so, just call and ask to speak to the officer! How hard is that????

He probably wants to ask you something relating to a neighbor or something. Call him and find out. If you were in trouble, they wouldnt have just left a card……

Better give ’em a call. It could be some type of ordinance violation, especially if you live within a city limit.

They are probably investigating a crime in the area and would like to talk to you to see if you saw or heard anything. Call them back, it could be important.
