“It’s actually starting to go a little bit red.” Wherever there may be some pink/red… the blue may create purple. If you have a very dark blue, it will likely cover pretty well, and maybe just shine more purple in the sun… but as it fades, your blue will likely fade to purple.
When I went blue after pink, my pink hair had faded to an orangey/salmon color. I used a toner to get rid of the red and orange tones, and my hair was a very pale/lavendar color afterwards. When I put the blue in it covered great!
If you’re nervous, try a strand test! 🙂
Purple To Blue Hair
Dark blue is one of those colors that tend to go over other colors well. It depends on how dark the purple is. I’ve actually used a purple dye that turned blue.
If the purple colour is faded out some, then yep, you should be fine to dye it a different colour, just be sure the blue is darker then the purple, that way the colour will completely cover any remaining purple,
also to be sure your hair comes out blue, just leave the colour on for a bit more, like maybe 5-10 mins. over the recommended time, that way you will be sure to have coloured over the purple 🙂
Good luck ^_^

Take a blue crayon and color it on paper then color purple over it
