It might stem from the phrase “right on the tee na na,” as in just right or perfect. There are also musicians who have used “tee na na” in the lyrics of their music. For example, Dr John (from New Orleans) suggested that “tee na na” means tuchis (as in bottom or butt). So for instance if you say something is right on the tee na na, it’s like saying that it’s right on the tuchis, or patootie!
