    Actually mathematics usually uses Greek words (because of its origins with Euclid)

    Greek terms:

    Polynomial = poly (many) nomial (terms)

    Binomial = bi (two) nomial (terms)

    Unidirectional = uni (one) directional

    Language studies mostly use Latin:

    monosyllabic = one syllable

    multi-syllabic = many syllables

    The answer is “plus” and “unit.” I found the Scholastic Press answer key online. 😊
