What does “Merry Christmas to you and yours mean,” particularly the “yours” part, when telling it to someone or someone telling it to you?

It’s an old fashioned way of saying “the people who mean a lot to you”, typically family. It is quite old fashioned though, only used in greeting cards now I think or in fancy speech, which does come out more at christmas.
