Someone just told me to to this and I don’t know what it means. I know it’s slang. Is this a really bad insult?

Na mane it depends on the context it was used in. If you were to question me about a transgression I may have made against you and I was to reply “get it how you live” that would be an insult. However if you were to tell me about a lick you were planning on hitting because of adversity you have faced in regards to amassing legitimate monetary compensation and I was to retort by saying “get it how you live” that would be me telling you to use the resources available to you to make it which could range from anything like Jerry rigging an electronic or mechanical device to selling dope to feed a family of ten. It can also mean deal with whatever happens the way you started it ( don’t tell out if you was selling dope or on the dive team and you get caught take your lick like a man).

Yeah, it’s just saying get money how you can get it. If you live in the hood and hustling is a part of your daily life, get money like that.
