In the Dora the Explorer song “Bate Bate Chocolate” what does “bate” mean? This has been bugging me and my friends and family for a long time! haha thanks!

It’s from the verb “batir,” to stir — probably talking about hot cocoa or a milk shake.

Oh and it’s third person, so it’s one of the following:

    He stirs

    She stirs

    You [formal] stir

    Stir [command]

Since it’s a song, I’m leaning toward command.

To stir, to whip, to mix.

Bate is the command of “batir”

bate (noun) mean bat, like in baseball bat.

Toca (from the verb ‘tocar’, meaning ‘to touch’) In this sentence though, it has a different meaning: Me toco cuidar al gato—It was my turn to take care of the cat.

    It means– you stir-chocolate

    Probably command.
