Water leaking through smoke detector?! Help?!?!?!?

I need fast answers….My daughter was bathing and decided to pour huge bucket of water onto the floor, flooding our upstairs bathroom. The water started leaking through our ceiling and directly through a smoke detector on the first floor. Now every alarm in the house (they’re all electric) is going off and I can’t stop it! We’ve tried mopping up the water and drying everything up but it’s still leaking and the alarms are still going. What to do????????

for immediate relief, unplug all detectors and let them dry out. then plug back in after they have dried. sorry such a short and simple answer but you needed quick and fast.

also. as far as the water, just let it dry, its only a bucket of water, not like it was a faucet running for hours and over flowing. everything will be fine, the water will dry from the ceiling in no time.

shut the power off to the house. or just unplug every smoke detector and call an electrician. many new smoke detectors are wires together and when one trips they all go off. the water in the first one probably made a false trip. water + electricity = bad

i doubt you have rubber gloves….at leat the ones that would actually protect you from electrical shock……but….carefully remove the batteries. or let em run low. then go out and buy new ones.
