U-Haul- If your using the moving truck just in town, can you leave your car parked at the store/lot?

Just wondering, we need to rent a u-haul tomorrow but I wouldn’t be able to pick up/drop off my husband because of school and work :/ So was wondering if he drove up there would he be able to leave his car parked there while taking and using the moving van, being he’s bringing it back same day?

It all depends on the owner of the business. U-Haul rental sites are franchised, which means each place is independently owned. Granted the owners have to follow company rules as far as renting the trucks and storage spaces, however they can make up their own rules as far as parking.

Yes you can. I’ve done it a couple of times. However, they claim no responsibility to any damage to the vehicle. Also, the U-Haul station I used was not gated and parking was in front.

But as for storing, I wouldn’t do that. You shouldn’t leave any car unattended for more than a day because it can get towed. That’s why, helping my friends to move, we start in the early morning and finished by the afternoon before the place is closed.

No. If he leaves it in the lot, that gives the U-Haul people the rights to rent it. So, when he comes back to pick up the car, it will be painted orange/white and have a big-**** box mounted on the roof, with a stupid picture of the Grand Canyon or racing motorycles…
