“Too pretty for your own good” , what does that mean?

Like someone looks too attractive to be acting like this ?

I’m confused.

It means that you are too pretty and so, it’s too much for your own good.

    The expression is

Too clever for your own good.

I never did hear about the variation you have.

But “Too clever for your own good” means you are being a smarty pants, and the inference is that no one likes a smarty pants.

Applying it to pretty I am not sure of. It does not seem to have an exact equivalent.

it means if someone is attractive they may be preyed upon sexually, or they may feel too confident because of their attractiveness and become petty and stuck up.
