Swiss miss hot chocolate expired, can I still drink it?

I have a box of unopened swiss miss hot chocolate that expired on 30th January 2017, Its been about a week. Would it still be ok to drink? I have a very sensitive stomach so I’m worried it’ll give me a stomach ache.

Also if its ok to drink how long will it be fine for?

things like that don’t spoil!! govt requires a date on each package or bottle/can of edible stuff but mostly those dates don’t mean anything. Yes, your swiss miss hot chocolate is good for probably the next 10 years.

pfffft! I have several packets left from 4 days ago that taste fine.

there is NOTHING in hot chocolate packets that spoils and that is NOT an expiration date..bet the word ‘expired” doesn’t even appear on the box or packets.

    You are fine.

If it really has “expired” (which seems impossible to me) then no, it would be physically impossible to drink it.

Mix it up and if it smells ok you are safe.

As long as it looks and smells good I would go for it.

The expiration date is always on the safe side of the time frame.

    For example:

Eggs can be eaten months after expiration date, if stored in refrigirator. But still I guess many eggs are thrown away same day it expire.

My tips is to smell, look and taste before throwing.

I wouldn’t because it’ll taste terrible. It’s all powder so it can get hard and even wormy if it’s really old. But if it’s expired by only a week or so, it shouldn’t be too far gone yet. Good luck

It’s a dried product and won’t go off.
