Randomly received $2,300 dollars in my Chase account, where did it come from?

I randomly received 2,300 dollars from someone in my chase account. When I switch to view only Credits in my transaction history it goes from only showing “DEPOSIT” to “BTQ DEPOSIT”. I am very confused and have no idea where it came from and what I should do. What is a BTQ DEPOSIT?

Go ahead and spend it! Congratulations on gaining that free money! Please do enjoy! I am so very happy for you!

By the way, don’t worry. You are not responsible for the error of others. If there was an error, it’s not your fault! As the old song goes, finders keepers loosers weepers. 🙂

Call the bank and report the unknow deposit. Do not spend it — never. It could take some time for the bank to remove the funds, but eventually they will.

Could be an error. Call them up and ask. Don’t spend the money until you find out what it is – if it’s not authentically yours, you will have to replace it.

Ring the bank and tell them.

Don’t spend it because it’s not your money and you will have to pay it back after the bank realises its mistake. That’s happened to more than one person.
