nose piercing scab?

I got my nose pierced (a ring) about 2 and a half weeks ago and now I’ve got one of those granulomas formed around the wound, and it’s created a scab. What I’ve done is soaked a bit of kitchen roll in warm salt water and used it as a compress on the scab, but then it just seems to take the scab off and bleed. I clean it as usual with cotton buds as well soaked in salt water. I’m just wondering, will the scab just go on it’s own if I stop taking it off and making it bleed? and should I start using sea salt instead of table salt in my solution? thanks, advice would be greatly appreciated!

It will fade away on its own, but since its still so newly pierced at 2 weeks just keep cleansing the area with warm sea salt soaks, eventually in time it will fade away. It had taken mine a whole 3 months till it was healed to clearly fade away. Try not to over clean it or pick at it, peeling the scab when its not ready to come off will make the scab darker. Good Luck.

    Scab In Nose

I had the same problems a month ago with my nose piercing. Mine had come into a little scabby lump that kept on bleeding when i cleaned it. My advice is to keep cleaning as normal ( weak sea salt solution is best) then after a couple of weeks actually remove the jewelery (trust me this works) and rub the scab with your normal cleansing solution. Don’t freak out if it starts to bleed, keep letting it bleed until the blood is bright red (murky or discolored blood is evidence of infection). Once this happens put your jewelery back in and use a warm salt solution (weak as poss) as a compress. Press hard on the piercing ( this will reduce blood loss and minimize scabbing) until it appears to have stopped bleeding. Warm compress it every day for about 10 Minutes until your recommended healing time is over. You may have noticed that the scab has gone and the warm compress has encouraged new skin to grow where the scab was. This is a sign of successful healing. This sounds like a lot of hassle but trust me, its so worth it. This worked for me and now i have a healthy attractive piercing to enjoy. Good luck !!

hmm not sure…did you take it out cause you didnt like it? Ive heard that the piercing hole never goes away but since yours is so recent I’m not sure. I had my nose pierced for 5 years now and I love it 😉 Im sure the scab will heal soon, just dont pick at it!

Sea salt is better, but you only need a tiny bit, and table salt will do if you’ve nothing better.

Just let it heal, the more you pick it off, the more likely it is to scar weird.
