This dog was scratching at the door of my apartment one night…. I decided to let her in she is a American Pitbull Terrier (Blue) about 6-7 months and I have a male myself that is a American Pitbull Terrier (Blue as well) who is 9 months old they get along perfectly and are totally in love… lol Anyways, I noticed that her tounge is split like at the tip long ways. I took a look at it and it seems to be ok and healed. Its like she licked inside a can or sumthing like that. It doesnt bother her at all and its like she doesnt even notice it. I was wondering if it will be ok or not. Its already healed so is it a big deal. Please all advice welcome.
P.S I went around my apartment complex and nobody new who she belonged to, several ppl told me they say her at 11 am running around and i didnt find her (or should i say she found me) till 7pm. I also put an ad on craigslist and no response from anyone. So im gonna keep her… lol : )
Jus a lil more info… lol

Well, its not such a big deal. I think this puppy has a split tongue originally.
I haven’t had an experience with my 2 dogs, but i have heard that my friends’ dog had split tongues too.
Well, if you are very scared and really want to see the real problem, you should go to the vet and ask him for advise.
Ps. Hope this jelps
If it is healed then there is no problem. However, you will have a big problem if your male and female aren’t neutered and spayed. Just something you might want to think about. The split tongue is no big deal.
If it has healed and does not cause problems while eating or drinking it doesn’t need to be a concern.
it won’t cause her any problems. Some humans do this to themselves as a form of extreme body modification. It won’t hinder her in any way, its just cosmetic.
I think it should be fine, but you should probably ask a professional vet.
