Is it uncle? The other three words have a verb in them: leave, light, halt…
this was an episode of Columbo (entitled “The Bye-Bye Sky High IQ Murder Case”).
I believe the person who asked the question was the murderer, who later complimented Columbo on his high IQ.
Edit:
hmm, let’s try again…
Asphalt is the outcast? the other three words are verbal commands or expressions.
Edit #2:
oooh, this is a good way to drive ppl insane π
can have plural form: leaves, uncles, delights, but can’t have asphalts; Ergo, asphalt…

Asphalt (no connotation to a nationality). Thus we have, Dutch Uncle, Turkish Delight and French Leave”. Asphalt is the answer.

Leave has only one syllable and I have heard it in almost every movie I’ve seen.
