I realize this was no longer exists in the Marine Corps (since 2007), but I was wondering if this was restricted to only males. When I was working in MOS 4066 (Small Computer Systems Specialist) in 2003, not a single female could be found in ISMO (Information Security Management Office).
I just came off a tour as a Marine Corps recruiter and I will tell you that the Marine Corps does take into consideration your wishes and you will sign a Program Statement of Understanding (PSOU) that will spell out all the MOS possibilities for you in black and white. The Marines is a very competitive place and it will fill any vacancies on a first come first serve basis. Look into the programs very carefully and know that you could get any of the MOS’s contained therein. Also, certain programs are only available at select times during the year. It’s essential to have an open dialogue with all the recruiters in the office and take their advice, after all they are what you are striving to emulate. Semper Fidelis and best of luck in your future
As a former instructor at CSS in Quantico (1991 – 1996), the 4066 class was one that I taught. We have had female students go through that class so it was not gender limited.
Nope there are females in this field (06XX)
and by the way rebel, 4066’s merged into the comm field and have several mos’s such as 0656/57…etc
