Just dyed my hair black, can I go swimming in a pool?

  It might go a bit green from the chemicals if you havent washed the dye out properly. Your hair is dry after dying so use a hair masque or conditioning treatment the morning or night before to minimize the damage. You can also wear a swim cap if you want to avoid damage completely (: Good luck! <3

  That is a big change! I’ve always wanted to dye mine black but I never have had the courage lol. I don’t think you have much to worry about. If you are going swimming for a long time I’d wear a cap but if you’re mainly going to socialize and not do some underwater diving all night like you’re just going for a brief dip here and there then I wouldn’t worry about it. Just make sure you at least test it out before you go in the shower or something and make sure the dye is all rinsed out. Hope this helped! Have fun!

  Totally know how your feeling (:

  Take it from someone who’s swam copetitively for 6 years:

  **before you get in the pool, wet you hair down in the shower and glob a lot of conditioner in it. Your hair will soak in the conditioner instead of the chlorine, so the dye won’t be bleached by the chlorine.

  **its best to condition it as close to befor you get in the pool as possible, if you do this, your dye will be fine (:

  DONT WEAR A SWIM CAP!!! it doesn’t help unless you put conditioner in anyway. plus you’ll look like a total loser in front of everyone haha. i only wear them because i have to, but when im at the pool for fun i stay as far away from them as i can
