Is it normal for little tiny spiders to conjugate on ceilings?

Yesterday night I was staring up at the ceiling and I noticed a few tiny spiders there. I looked closer and noticed there was more. I had killed about six of them when I noticed my ceiling was covered with them. It was like something out of a horror film. I ended up cleaning my whole room out, vacuuming, and putting everything back when I was sure there was no more. But when I looked back, not only were they in my room, but there were also some in other rooms of the house. What kind of spiders are these, why do they gather, and how can I get rid of them please?

They are probably babies and just hatched out. You’ll have to just spray around your house.

Without more of a description it is hard to say what type of spiders you are dealing with. However, when spiders hatch, they are very small and you will see a lot of them in a small group. Best thing to do is get the vacuum cleaner out and suck them all off the ceiling. Use a wet rag mop and roll it along the edge of the ceiling to wall area, which will collect up any webs, which may harbor more egg sacks.

Now.. forgive me for pointing this out… you really made laugh. The word, I’m sure you meant to use, was “congregate’ not conjugate. If you had tiny spiders conjugating on your ceiling, you should call the local news station. I’m sure they would love to cover such an event. LOL

When I was a little girl I was bitten by a Brown Recluse, and ever since then I’ve had a bad fear of spiders. Not nearly that strong though. So judging by how I would feel, I’m not sure that would help her very much. If her fear is that bad then going to a place where she’s surrounded by them would just make it worse. Holding a spider could help though. Confronting her fear in that way will probably work. Just don’t stick her in room where they’re everywhere. And I wouldn’t give her a tarantula either. Start out with a regular spider she might find in her house. Good luck!!

Conjugation is much different than congregation. And no it is not normal, but they’re probably just common house spiders.

No, the only place that’s normal for spiders to conjugate is in “Charlotte’s Web”.

If they’re congregating, it means they probably all just hatched somewhere nearby, it’s about the only time that spiders will interact without one of them eating the other.

Hello, we have had this happen also. The ones we had were Huntsman spiders, babies, just hatched. The dilemma was… to spray them….Karmic penalties I’m sure. Personally we believe in the balance of nature, and didn’t want to kill them. But, we also didn’t feel like living with 4256 new house mates. So… we vacuumed them up and opened the bag up outside. So the spiders can eat the cockroaches before THEY come inside. So if you vacuum and release them at least your conscience will be clear. (Oh, and you won’t have to clean up dead spiders for the next few weeks).

That happened to me last year!! i was watching tv when i saw a little dot moving across the ceiling and then two following after it. when i turned on my light i saw tons of little green spiders running across the ceiling. i freaked out, i could even reach all of them to kill them. my mom happened to be painting my room the next day though so we had to move everything out of the room anyway and i cleaned every thing and also vacuumed hard to reach spots even the corners in the ceiling for spider webs. They didnt come back this year:)

there are some web sites with tips…

Get a dehumidifier, the dry air will cause them to move into more moist places so they can breathe easier.
