Is it legal to own a crossbow in the Philippines without a license?

Walked into a shop once and saw a couple of crossbows there and it got me thinking: “Hmm, it fires projectiles, but it’s technically not a gun so it it legal to own one without a license?”

As you know, gun laws here are pretty tight since the New Year’s incident(s) and so guns are being put on a shorter leash for now. Now, a crossbow must have different rule sets than guns since it looks and operates differently from guns.

According to the rules & regulations (yes, I read it completely; how shocking), it prohibits unlawful possession of and deadly weapon “from which a bullet, ball, shot, shall or other missile may be discharged by means of gunpowder or other explosives.” -according to the law. Now, did you read the word “arrow” in any of that? I certainly didn’t.

Now the thing is, if I go and went ahead and just snagged it from the store (snagged=bought. Don’t get any ideas that I was gonna steal it, that was a joke. This is the part where you giggle) and found out there is indeed something saying about a crossbow, I’d be in some trouble and I nobody likes that. So, to the main question: is it legal to own a crossbow in the Philippines without a license? Yes or no? and if so, I think I wanna read the part where it says why.

Oh, why do I want one? IT’S A FREAKING CROSSBOW! No, I will not shoot anyone; it is purely for sporting and/or bragging.

Also, and additional question is what are the laws in the Philippines regarding knuckledusters and other similar things like slingshots and bows and hell, let’s put in freaking swords in the mix too! Oh, the things I think in my spare time…

Update:

Also, one additional thing that may help the nervous: IT’S FOR HOME DEFENSE. Like I said, I’m not gonna shoot anyone and it’s just basically for showing off and sporting. Also, that crossbow is on sale, please answer fast.

We always recommend that you check with your local customs department to see if there are any restriction on importing archery or crossbows. This is to insure timely delivery without any delays. You might also check and see if there are any additional duty/taxes that you might be charged for..

Visit us at The Crossbow Store as we have crossbows for great prices adn haev and will ship to your location. that is the Philippines.

driving is called a privilege, no longer an excellent, in all 50 states! the persons you heard this from are pulling your leg. You do have the splendid to holiday, strolling, or horseback, or because of the fact the passenger in a motor vehicle. guy or woman states can no longer placed up “border administration” stations on indoors borders. driving and not utilising a license is a ticketable offense in each state, and not in any respect signing any DMV types isn’t a protection. The dude that has no longer had a license in 38 years (if this type of individual actually exists) could be stated for driving and not utilising a license each time the police capture him!
