I went during the Winter to Great Lakes. I would recommend Winter instead of Summer just because I came from Florida and it was always hot as heck down here and I got tired of that weather.
I love the cold too. To me it would seem smarter to go during the Winter to avoid possible heat-related accidents and exhaustion as well as dehydration. And because there is snow, you won’t get prolonged to the outside environment as much and it gives you less opportunities to be “trained / punished” physically 😀
It depends were you go. There are 5 basic training sites. The winter sucks in all 5 sites. However, the summer is very humid in all sites! I went to Ft. Jackson both winter and summer. The best month to go is Sept.
Depends where you go, and what kind of weather you’re used to. Ft Leonard Wood is hot as Hades during the summer, and cold as space in the winter. September and October really are the best months to go. It’ll be hot the first few weeks, but it starts cooling off in October.
My husband went for the period of the summer yet even contained in the summertime you get chilly nights. particularly while he enhance into out contained in the sector at night and donning some kit he enhance into nevertheless freezing and all of us enhance into huddled up at the same time. I say summer till you are able to manage being chilly constantly?
not sure about where other military branches go for recruit training , but i can tell you that i went to marine corps boot camp in the summer and it was terrible at paris island…..sooooo hot, miserable and the sand fleas are torture!!!! i wish i had gone in the winter.
if you mean physically i would say summer…but it depends on what branch of the military you are going into….my husband is in the airforce and his BT was in San Antonio and he went in May and it was hot as hell….but i think it depends on the location of your basic training…
depends where you go, it pretty much sucks all the time. i was at jackson (SC) aug-oct, which was horrible….humid and hot to freezing cold. brace yourself. there is no “good” time to go.
I went to Ft. Sill, OK in the summer and it was a cakewalk….. To the crybabies……Pussy!!! LOL
