Is it against the law for me to walk around in public with a mask on?

and a morph-suit. Pretty much my identity would be completely hidden.

Update:

Mary C, that’s not important. Just know it’s not I have no illegal intentions.

In many statse in the United States masks are forbidden to be worn. However, I cannot say this for the rest of America and the rest of the world.

I saw an article where the police said that you are allowed to wear masks on halloween but not average day in public. You can get arrested for wearing a mask in public.

My friends from California and in CA you are not alowed to wear masks without a permit from the police.

THe laws of america are very arbitrary..

in nevada for example you HAVE to wear a mask in the street of elko i believe.

    Very strange and weird.

So long as you are not doing anything illegal, I doubt that going around in a costume w/mask would get you arrested. However, if you go into a bank or a store, it would be best to remove the mask lest someone think that you are a robber.

Why do you want to hide your identity?

It really depends, since its not a serious crime it depends on the police in your area. You could be arrested for disturbing the peace or something along those lines, but there is no law specifically forbidding walking around in a costume.

Unless it’s halloween, it’s against the law no matter what. Most states I’m sure outlaw masked vigilantes like batman.

You know, this would be a problem these days because of security concerns at certain places.
