Do you know what version the Rosetta Stone Spanish from Craigslist is? When did he buy it? Does he have all of the documentation, disks, microphone, headphone, etc? Is it Rosetta Stone Spanish Latin America, or Rosetta Stone Spanish Spain? Regardless, you might want to compare that Rosetta Stone Spanish to the Rosetta Stone Spanish here (which is the Latin America Spanish):

If you’re getting an older version of Rosetta Stone Spanish from Craigslist, missing the microphone and headphone, etc., to save a few bucks, maybe it’s not worth it?
Hope that helps.

Yes. I think it is an awful program and I’ve voiced my opinions on it frequently. It will NOT lead you to fluency. All the people who have used it and think they are fluent have deluded themselves. I’ve looked at Rosetta Stone Tagalog, my first language, to see what they covered. I skipped to the last lesson of level 2. The words used there were still very basic. Sure, you will probably learn a lot of vocabulary, so you may be able to understand a lot more than you previously could, but that certainly doesn’t match the criteria for a fluent speaker. You would only be able to have simple conversations at best. That is not fluent. That is basic proficiency. And before anyone says it might be different for Tagalog, Rosetta Stone uses the same pictures among the language packs. Which is another reason it fails – you cannot use the same formula for different languages. Certain aspects of a language are easier than others. The more difficult aspects should be stressed. But nope, Rosetta Stone makes no distinction and uses the same formula for every language. More popular languages like Spanish have a 3rd level, but they couldn’t have packed enough material in there for someone to become fluent. I always get irritated with people who say it is worth the money. It is NOT worth the money. Like I said it will not lead you to fluency. Not even close and THAT is why it is a rip-off. Rosetta Stone simply does not give you enough words or grammar. It is a supplement at best, and a very expensive one at that.

I might buy a used copy of Rosetta Stone Spanish from Craigslist. The seller admits that it's been used once?
