I failed my regents exam! but I passed the course. I have always been really smart and get high 90s in math but idk what happened this time! I know I need to retake the exam but do I have to retake the course too? When is the exam offered because I can’t take it in august because I will be in italy! Can someone please help me and let me know what my options are and how I can go about doing them?!

First of all, I feel your pain.
I had a 99 average in Integrated Algebra throughout the year pretty much, with one 100. However, I got a 92 on the Regents and I have been kicking myself for it ever since.
I’m guessing you took Algebra II/Trig.
Here’s the deal – the exam and your graduation should take priority over your vacation to Italy. Let’s face it – passing a Regents is more important than having a good time. You can take it in January 2011 again, but colleges may frown upon it.
My advice is to not go to Italy, if it is possible. If it is absolutely imperative that you go, just take it in January. If you can avoid going to Italy, I would.
P.S. For the Regents – I wouldn’t look at any old exams. I’d do practice problems from regentsprep.org and your textbook. The downfall of many on this exam was that they studied based on the Fall Sampler. Treat all of the material equally. Make sure you go into whatever retake you’ll take ready for ANYTHING.
Good Luck! 🙂
