  You don’t set the player for codes. Its codes are not user changeable.

  What you do is set the universal remote for the code in its code list that is for your player.

  Universal remote brands (sometimes even models) use different code libraries, so you need to use the code list specific to that universal remote. It should come with one in a boolket, and good universal remote manufacturers provide their code lists online.
