I think my dog is the only dog in town that can walk in the vets office and walk right in the back and climb in her old cage and everybody in there knows her by name, even has her own dish with her name on it, she has had major surgery there, and is a hit with the staff. Anyway, first time, she got caught,, small beagle, in a wire fence, chewed her leg off, came home after 2 weeks in the woods, hungry, cost was $650, second time, she was attacked by 2 pit bulls, I lost all respect for pit bulls that day and shot myself 2 pit bulls. Cost was $125, no stitches, just 48 puncture wounds to the hind leg, missing one, totally defenseless, 3rd time, was attacked by a German Shepard, that I can’t prove, but this time it was stitch city, 125 stitches to sew her back up, cost was $350. $100 of that was antibiotics, Ouch. So, my $10,000 beagle is really happy to have me for an owner, most people would have shot her by now, but she’s right here by my side now, happy as a clam.
My JRT ran into one of our fences and cut all the way down through his muscle about 4 in long and deep. The vet had to sedate him and put stitches to fix the muscle and then to stitches to close up the top. The total was $250.00 for everything, very reasonable.
Depends on the injury and where you live.
You can’t just go in and get stitches. They have to evaluate the dog and treat ALL it’s injuries. Bigger cuts will need more stitching. Then you have to get antibiotics and a lampshade to keep the dog from biting or scratching at the stitches.
It’s not going to be under $500. More for bigger dogs and bigger injuries.
It depends. My vet does it for free following a surgery. Without surgery, it is usually $25. However, when Agrarian was attacked by another dog and had to have stitches, wound flushing, antibiotics, and an additional rabies shot, it cost me $526.
Depends on how many, what other procedures or medications may be required and the individual vet’s prices. Call your vet and ask.
The cost of the vet visit.
the cost of the visit and anestetic to freeze it and probably something to sedate him mildly…..hope hes ok?
