How do you turn on & off the air conditionong/climate control in an Audi A4?

I have a 2000 model Audi A4 which i dont have the handbook for.Im trying to figure out how to turn on & off the A/C.I got a button which says ‘econ’ so im presuming that if i press that button on (red lights come on) then the A/C is off?

Yes, the ECON button turns the AC off, you can also push the + button until the AC turns off too.

Press the minus button on the blower control until the display is empty, the air con is off. Press the plus button to switch it back on.

Sorry my previous answer was not quite correct.

i am an audi user and what you have is climate control. this doesn’t turn off but it allows you to set the temperature you want by altering temp up or down. you can press auto- which allows the car to automatically adjust the inside environment (temp, fans, windscreen) to a normal condition.

if you have the dial pointing to the windscreen symbol and the fan on the a/c comes on automatically to keep the screen clear & cant be turned off unless you change it to blow on your face or feet etc.

Just adjust the temp. to what you want it to be. It has a outside temp. chip that automatically knows if you warm or cold.
