I know this seems like such a dumb question. I have no clue on fixing things. My mom gave me my old rocking chair for my son to have. It’s a little wobbly and i know it can be fixed with wood glue. i bought some but can’t figure out how to open the d*** bottle! I don’t know if i’m just an airhead or if I have a defective bottle. (prolly airhead) Has anyone used this kind before?

Usually just turn the tip counter-clockwise about one full turn. It is a dispenser tip, don’t turn it too far, or else it will come off. Turn the bottle upside-down, and squeeze it. If nothing comes out, take the dispenser tip off, and see if there is dried glue in there. If there is, clear it. I am guessing that you live in UK? If the above advice does not work, try taking the entire top off of the bottle; is there a foil seal on the top of the bottle? In the US, there is no such seal, but IDK about exported glue.

DO NOT USE ELMER! get Tite bond 2 or 3! this is a superior wood glue ,, just twist the cap’s pointed end and it rotates up! then down t close!!
elmer glue bottle allways stick closed. lol been there done that , i set mine in hot water for around 5 mins. it help to get the lid open . when im done i stick a nail ,in the top so i can get it open next time .
here a hint with your chair , use a light coat, of glue ,and spred it out thinly . and wipe the excess off with a rag …. failer to do so .will leave a nice yellow mark ..

The orange tip should come off. Unscrew it first there may be a seal. As a tip I find it easier to use a small brush then straight from the applicator. Wipe up any spills immediately. When gluing the rocker place heavy object on the opposite side then what you are gluing or use belts or straps to keep it together. Let it set over night before addressing another portion. It may take a few days this way to fix it but it will be sturdier.
So i was sure the folks who said just pull up the top were wrong. I used all my hand strength and it looked like there wasn’t even a seam in the entire orange top. So I put it in the vise and used vise-grips and channellocks. Only then did it let go. Shitty design… like almost everything in these days of non-thinking. Oh look! Gently pulling on the top part of the dispenser reveals a gap at the tip. Then you can invert the bottle to make the glue flow out from the gap.
