GUYS: When you call a girl “pretty cute”, what does that imply?

My friend got a text from a guy we met at the beach today, and he said 2 of his friends thought that my twin sister and I were “pretty cute”…then he asked me what I thought of them!?

What does that mean, that Im not that attractive, but descent? I mean, I should prob. take the compliment and walk away since I usually dont have guys tell me that, but is it normal to feel upset? Instead of it bringing me up, it kinda brought me down….I could be cute, but im “pretty cute”!!!?

Help please, what’s your interpretation!?

Update:

Haha, yea Im like overreacting….It’s 12:57 am, Im slow like that at times.

It means that he’s attracted to you but doesn’t want to give some huge compliment that will make you feel that you have the upper hand. If he says that you’re beautiful or something then like most women you’re get full of yourself and treat him like dirt and feel like your in control during the courtship process. Pretty cute is about all he can say without inflating your ego more that he is prepared to at this point, or sounding like he’s creepily over-obsessed with someone he just met.

It means you’re cute but not “omg gorgeous.” Take the compliment. If you’ve just met the guy he’s not going to proclaim his love to you and declare you the most beautiful woman in the world. He’s gonna say “pretty cute” and see how much you like him back. Either way, it’s a compliment. Take it and try to start feeling better about your appearance.

Depending on the guy really, some guys can’t spit out the word hot, and well “pretty cute” means your gorgeous, but some guys can sayhat they really think and when they say “pretty cute” they usually mean your decent.

Personally, when I say a girl is pretty cute I usually mean she is above average, but not the best looking girl. 😀

    BUT.. not ugly either.

to the pretty cute girl just fishing for compliments. what would you say if the guy said wow you are Hot I want to blind myself right now so your beautiful face will be the last thing i ever see. don’t be a downer. don’t look for reasons to be depressed life is a one time show and there is no rewind.

You don`t give an age, but i`ll assume that you are very young. ( The behavior is that of a teen girl )

Take my word for it that it was a complement. The young man doesn`t have a complete command of the language yet. He should have written that you both were “very“ cute.

No they probably said pretty cute so they don’t seem too extreamly excited, kinda like playin hard to get or trying to sound cooler

IMO pretty cute can imply a greater level cuteness than cute like “Man, she’s PRETTY cute” as opposed to “yeah she’s cute”. The real question is, when a girl calls a guy ‘cute’ what does THAT imply? lol.

Let me tell you something about guys: They don’t spend this much time analyzing the connotations of words to select the “perfect” word to describe you….

Sexy, cute, pretty, hot, pretty cute… They all mean the same to them, and if a guy compliments you… heck, just take it. 🙂 You’re making a problem out of a kind word…?

It should make you feel good. When guys say girls are “pretty cute”, it essentially means that she is good-looking. The line between “cute” and “pretty cute” is very fine.
