    Dear Teacher,

Sally Jones will be absent from school on ___(date)___ as she will be attending an important family event.

Please contact me at home (555) 555-5555 if you have any questions or concerns regarding her necessary absence from school.

    Thank you,

    Mrs. Jones

**IF** the child will be missing more than one day of school, you might want to add a second paragraph as follows:

I would appreciate if you could provide Sally with any homework assignments in advance so she can complete them in time for her return to school.

No reason to be absent from a job to prepare for a wedding. You can spend time on the weekend or holidays. You could ask for help to plan a wedding. You don’t want to wind up without a job.

You don’t need an excuse for this. The truth is fine.
