Estimate cost of a full sleeve tattoo?

Hi, I live in Ireland. Judging by average tattoo prices here could anyone give me an approximate cost of a full black ink only sleeve?. I’m thinking mostly black roses etc. Or just share your own experiences with tattoo costs in general please, im working out how long I’ll need to save up for! Thanks!

Tattoos are expensive. It doesn’t matter if you get color or black and white. I’ve had a few tattoo artists tell me that and I figure if there is an artist that tells you that it DOES matter, they’re just trying to get your money. The cost varies depending on the amount of detail that you want in the design. You should save up for as much pain you can tolerate. You cannot get a whole sleeve done in a day, or two days. The best way to do it is in increments, like get the outlining of the roses done, pay for that, come back and get some of it shaded, pay for that, come back and get more shaded until it is complete and pay as you go. A full sleeve can cost most likely over 1,000 if you are trying to cover all your skin. For me, a four hour tattoo usually costs around $300-400. And 4 hours is a long time to sit in that chair, personally, that’s the longest I could do it. I wouldn’t necessairly recommend it either because it becomes very sore and your skin can only handle so much. Good luck!

The estimates given are way, way off for the price of a well done full sleeve. You can spend $1000 on a single tattoo.. If you are able to get a full sleeve for $1000 it isn’t likely to be very nice. I would think a better estimate would be anywhere from $5000+ for a well done sleeve. If you are going to well known artists you could spend even more easily. A very rough price guide for good tattoo work would be about $150 an hour. A single large tattoo could take 5 to 10 hours and you would need several to create a full sleeve and always remember to tip well.

Oh Ireland, well I live in America but for a full sleeve like that with great detail, I would say anywhere from 800 to 1500 dollars. What you really need to do is go into the tattoo shop your looking to get it at and they can price you out. Maybe even give you some sort of payment plan. There are just to many factors for someone to be able to give you an accurate estimate from the description provided.

If you pay anything less than $3500 for a full sleeve, you re either the artists best friend or you have a shitty tattoo.
