There was certainly someone who just published his works as ‘Griffin of Bristol’, and they all seemed to be prints of some kind. However, I can’t find out any more information than that.

Something has come up on eBay recently, which went for either 99 pence (less than £1).

Well Kurt said his idol was John Lennon. Some of his favorite artists were The Stooges, Pixies, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Aerosmith, The Shaggs, Black Sabbath, The Wipers, The Vaselines, N.W.A., Alice in Chains, Tupac, Public Enemy, The Velvet Underground, The Cars, The Knack, The Breeders, Sonic Youth, Black Flag, Young Marble Giants, R.E.M… the list goes on and on. The thing is, he never really said what his favorite song was so I am afraid I cant answer that…. but if I had to guess anything it would probably be something off of Raw Power by The Stooges, but I can be for sure. I do know his top 50 albums, however I will only list his top 5 1. Raw Power by The Stooges 2. Surfer Rosa by Pixies 3. Pod by The Breeders 4. The Pink EP, by the Vaselines 5. Philosphy of the World by The Shaggs.

Peter Griffin did pencil sketches of Old Bristol from old photographs of building which at that time no longer existed. The original sketches, or drawings, were then printed (by which process I am uncertain). I witnessed Peter doing some of the sketches while in Rome at a factory where he worked as a draftsman. He eventually took his Old Bristol sketches to London and I purchased a set of the first prints, signed by him, when he came back to Rome. he did many ,any other fine pencil drawings. I have some which he did of old aircraft – he used to visit old aircraft museums in Rome along with other enthusiasts he worked with, and he did vintage cars. I now live in Australia and have some of the prints still with me.

When I was a teenager I worked as a researcher for Pete Griffin. His drawings were fabulous. They were published by Cameo Press.
