Yes they will eat their own eggs most birds will!! what has happened they may have broken the egg accidentally,and that is why they eat them,
But consider is there no sign of the eggs as they will eat the shell,or are mice able to get into their nest box , because if so the mice could be the culprits
Do you have a source of Cuttle bone and do you give them fruit and veg (raw)try some Broccoli,

They have been known to eat their own eggs. They are usually needing the calcium. Pet shops sell calcium blocks that attach to the side of the cage. You can search for more info on Yahoo search as well as proper diet for breeding lovebirds. Good Luck!

If they are in a nset box it could be that they buired the eggs.You didnt give enough information for anyone to figure out what was going on. provide more info. do you have a pair. how many eggs dissapeared, how long were the eggs in the nest box, is there a nest box.

Yes. as weird as it sounds most birds eat their eggs if the’re infertile. They are great source of calcium and protein. Eggshells after hatching are also eaten by the parents. If your birds ate fertile eggs this means that they aren’t good parents or they have severe calcuim and protein defficiency. Supply your birds proper food by doing some research and finding out what’s nutritious and what do they like. good luck.
