I know seeing a live praying mantis symbolizes good luck, but what about dead ones!? I keep seeing dead praying mantis in my backyard. No reason I feel like they are dying but the matter is they are dead. Anyone know what the symbolism behind dead praying mantis!?

The Bushmen say that Manits is a trickster. He attempted to trick Ostrich out of fire, but perished in the very fire he stole. The Bushmen believed that Mantis warned them of the journey to the next life. I would take from this story, that something will change and there will be a different life coming into your life.
OR
Maybe Manits ate an insect that had been sprayed with insecticide and died.

It could be something to do with the life cycle of a praying mantis. They only live for about 12 months. Also they are into cannibalism after mating. So if your backyard is a haunt for praying mantis, it may well be their life cycle is going through the normal process.

Seasons change,summer is gone,winter is approaching. As long as nobody is doing this,as that would be the bad luck/karma. There is even a fine for killing the praying mantis,as they are extremely beneficial to the environment,the fine is a hefty one as well.
