Cigarette lighter in washing machine… Is there anything I should worry about?

I left my bic lighter in the pocket of my sweatshirt and then put in the wash. I know… it was a really stupid thing to do. So the paranoid part of me thinks that I don’t know something is explode because of this or something. Has any one done this? Did anything happen?

Update:

So the lighter actually still works. Is there anything I should worry about such as my clothing or washing machine having some kind of damage?

Also I know that smoking is bad for you.

Nothing to worry about. We find lighters in commercial dryers in our laundromats and the dryers get super hot and no explosions so a home washer and dryer no problem but you should check your pockets as an ink pen busting in your wash and you will have big problems.

No there is nothing to worry about. The washing machine only warns against washing clothes soaked in flamable liquid so i think you will be okay but you might call the manufactioner or a technishion just to be on the safe side

Ur fine … Done it many times… In the wash …in the dryer. I guess anything’s possible but like I’ve said its happened more than I can count and the Maytag man is still in his shop waiting for my call.

No. No damage to the washing machine or the clothing. Just rewash your clothing
