Can rats eat turkey bones?

I was just wondering if rats could eat turkey bones. I hear they like chicken bones. I’m nervous they will choke. Happy Thanksgiving and thanks!

I’ve given my rats many raw bones with tiny chunks of meat on them and they LOVED it. Sometimes they would just clean the bone of any meat and blood and leave it alone though, but sometimes they like to chew on it too. Good luck with your babies! Thank you for be concerned with their health!

I know they can eat steak bones but i am not sure about turkey and chicken bones. Rats are pretty durable with food and for the most part i know they cant have anything acidic but ive not heard about turkey bones!

I assume they are the same as chicken bones, so yes. Rats are supposedly the only animal that can eat chicken bones without it doing them any harm or them choking on it!

Hmm. I’m sure they would love them, but I would worry too. I have never had any rats, but I have dogs, and the trouble with poultry bones is they are hollow. So, its easy to crack, and the small bone shards end up cutting up the dog’s throat and stomach lining. But I have no idea if a rat would be able to chomp through one. Maybe you should just save them for supervised play time:)

They can eat chicken bones, so I’m thinking turkey bones should not be a problem.
