As long as the veg is not cooked and is raw frozen (but defrosted), yes they can eat it. If it is cooked it becomes too mushy for them to be able to eat properly and can also get stuck in their pouches and cause infection if they try to store it, as hamsters do
Hard raw veg is also good for their teeth as it helps wear them down to prevent overgrown teeth..
The veg needs to be thawed to room temperature before your feed them to hammy. Try not to give it straight from the fridge either as cold food could upset their tummy.
Fresh would be better though (in small portions – remember the size of lil’ hammy’s tummy) as they contain more vitamins than frozen ones.
Hiya, No i would not give my hamsters frozen veg. They love fresh veg, and fruit i also give them cooked pasta (not cooked in salt though) mashed up cooked egg and little treats bought from the pet shop.
no. hamsters can eat chilled veg but not frozen veg.
iN THE SUMMER I GIVE MY HAMSTERS HALF A FROZEN CARROT EACH BEFORE I GO TO BED THEY LIKE IT BUT IT IS ALWAYS RAW. COOKED VEG DOESNT HELP THEIR TEETH
no, you couldnt do that cause one thing hamster loves to eaten soft and cook foods so that they can chew and swallow their foods safer way . if you do gave them frozen foods they will have hard time by useing their teeths to bite into the foods and they can cause tooth ach or the pices can choked them or even stuck into their throats .
yes they can but i wouldnt recomend it just make sure that it is not completly frozen with ice and stuff on it let it thaw a little if ur gonna do that.
Not good to even try, you will make them ill or even kill them. Get fresh carrots, does them good and keeps their teeth trimmed.
