British army. power bag lift at selection?

basically i’ve got selection coming up very soon. and ive been told i need to do a power bag lift to pass. lift a bag whats 40kg from the floor to a height of 1.4 metre. im very worried about this as im a small person (5.4 foot). anyone got any tips of how to lift the bag up that can boost my chances of passing. im very confident about the jerry cans and run. thanks

Check out the picture of the Sandbag clean and press for an example of what to do. 40kg is very light for a lift which recruits almost entirely core and leg strength. You’ll be surprised at just how easy it is. 1.4m is only 4.6 feet, so you could possibly just get it up to chest height and then be done, but it’d be just as easy to press it above your head.

Go find a large bag of cement (that’s about 80 pounds) and see which way works best for you.

    I don’t know what 1.4 meters is, but I’m guessing it’s about 4′ 8″.

Grab the bag in a cradle and lift with your knees fast and use that momentum to finish the last two feet with your arms.
