The equatorial circumference of earth is 4.01•10^4 kilometers.

One kilometer is equivalent to 3.94•10^4 inches.

The equatorial circumference of earth in inches:

    4.01*10^4 (3.94*10^4) inches

    = 1.57994×10^9 inches

    What’s this got to do with Radicals ? No wonder you’re confused – a Radical is the square root sign, or cube root sign etc. Multiply 4.01 x 10^4 by 3.94 x 10^4 i.e. (4.01 x 3.94) x 10^(4 + 4) = 15.7994X10^8 inches.

Just multiply the two numbers. (4.01*10^4 km * 3.94*10^4 in)/1km.

The km cancel and you get inches
