About how many pounds of force does it take to crush an apple with your hands?

I’ve been working a lot in the past year and I believe I got everything down. Now I’m adding more focused calf, foot, hand and forearm work.

Just for fun one of my goals is to increase my hand strength to the point where I can crush an apple (possibly a potato but I hear that’s far far more difficult) but I’m unsure how big a feat this really is, if it’s too high I’ll start with a smaller goal and work my way up.

Ultimately I want to get my hand strength to where I can catch an apple and crush it as I catch it.

Update:

@Aaron R: I was afraid of that but I was hoping for a general range but ah well. I’ll just keep at it and as long as I continue to progress I’ll be able to one day.

Well lets see, it takes about eleven pounds of force to type on the average keyboard. So probably about 15 psi which is roughly (very) 150 pounds. More than enough to break a rib or collarbone in one hand. Good luck!

um due to the large amount of variance between apples density we can not accurately measure that
