RE:
2x – 2y + 5z – 2x – y + 3z algebraic expression problem?
how do you simplify this with algebraic expression please help me
Piece of cake. Just Combine like terms!
2x-2y+5z-2x-y+3z
Since 2x and -2x are like terms, add -2x to 2x to get 0.
0-2y+5z-y+3z
Since -2y and -y are like terms, subtract y from -2y to get -3y.
-3y+5z+3z
Since 5z and 3z are like terms, add 3z to 5z to get 8z.
-3y+8z
2x-2y+5z-2x-y+3z
collect like terms
5z+3z-2y-y+2x-2x
2x-2x will cancel out
therefore 5z+3z-2y-y=8z-3y
2x – 2y + 5z – 2x – y + 3z
– 2y + 5z – y + 3z (2x-2x=0)
– 2y + 8z – y (3z+5z=8z)
– 3y + 8z (-2y-y)
8z – 3y
group the terms
x(2-2)+y(-2-1)+z(5+3)
x*0+y*-3+z*8
so the expression simplifies to
8z-3y
