I chose E. 11/6 but it is incorrect.

The correct answer is 11/12

    If we call the capacity of drum Y = y

    Initial oil in x = (1/2)x = (1/4)y

    initial oil in y = (2/3)y

    pour x in y, y now contains (1/4) + (2/3) = 3/12 + 8/12 = 11/12
